Stacking 3 Polarizers

I biked to Millenium Park this afternoon. The place was very crowded. While was taking some photographs I tried stacking two circular polarizers and one linear polarizer in order to cut light so I could take photographs at very slow shutter speed (and blur out the people). I was surprised to see that this combination of polarizers acts almost like an Infra Red filter. The shutter speed had to be slowed down to 30 seconds. I bought a Hoya 72 IR filter earlier today for real Infra Red photography. Until then I will experiment with this polarizer combo.
Infra Red photography is not for everyone. It involves a fair bit of Photoshop editing to balance the colors.

Phantom Knight

I was in Indiana again last night and took this panning shot inside a barn house. Light reflected off of dust particles provided luminosity to the air. The white color and movement of the horse gave it a translucent feel. Panning shots are useful to capture moving subjects and they give the photograph an artistic touch.

St. Louis

I was in St.Louis this past weekend meeting high school friends.
